its pretty easy how to get from Sapa to Hanoi. Just take a sleeping bus from bus station in Sapa (view map). After recommendation we chose sleeping bus from company Hung Thanh which cost 220 000 KIP/10$ per person. We bought tickets directly at the bus station and you should too unless you are ready to pay thousands of dong more if you arrange it through agency or hotel/hostel. On the other hand they should arrange pickup taxi for you within the price. After breakfast we decided to save money and train our body so we walked to bus station and it took us about 15 minutes from city centre. All buses are “sleeping”, modern and comfortable.

In the middle of our 3 hours journey we had lunch break. We showed by finger what we want to order – tasty spring rolls, rice, water spinach and not good tofu. But lunch for both was about 3$ 🙂

Departure time are 7:30, 11:30 a 16:30. There is a highway from Lao Cai so the ride was pretty smooth. The bus should have dropped us at Long Bien bus station (view map) but driver left us on the main road below bus station near the center as they probably leave you. After we jumped off the bus taxi drivers surrounded us offering a ride. In any case don’t take a ride, they just try to rip you off. Just walk on the next corner as we did. We connected to wifi and checked where we are. We were close to the lake and many accomodations. But if you need taxi take one and ask to turn on taxa-meter. We found cheap Winter Hotel for 12$ for both included breakfast.
